An avian behavioural ecologist interested in bird behaviour relative to their environment.
For the MSc research, assessed differences in territorial and foraging behaviour in open-savanna resident bird species. For the PhD research, explored habitat effects on the behaviour and individual condition of the yellow-breasted boubou (Laniarius atroflavus). For the postdoc research, explored intra-African bird migration across western, eastern and southern Africa. Worked for BirdLife International in Kenya, Ghana, the UK and Germany, supporting the development of a toolkit for Important Bird Area (IBA) conservation in Africa, and as the Coordinator of the UN Convention on Migratory Species (CMS) African Eurasian Migratory Landbird Action Plan (AEMLAP). Enjoys teaching and the interaction with students.
